Thursday 10:00am a study on Daniel with Pastor Skopak in the Small Group Room adjacent to the church office.

Thursday 6:30pm- High School Senior Youth Study with Vicar Vetrano

Sunday 9:45 am- Bible Study with Pastor Skopak in the library –Topic- Reconciliation and Forgiveness.

Coffee Hour every Sunday at 9:45 a.m., during the Sunday School Hour, in the parish hall.  All are welcome!

THE SMITHTOWN FOOD PANTRY

During 2007 the Pantry assisted 448 families which totaled 14,261 meals!  If you are aware of anyone in need in our area please direct them to the food pantry.  There is an ongoing need for donations of juice, baked beans, peanut butter, jelly, and cereal. Paper goods and personal hygiene products are also appreciated.  Thank you for your donations which can be left in the narthex basket. If you have any questions about the food pantry please contact Normal Martin at 265-4691.

 

Collections Continue:

Please place items in baggies and place on Narthex table or marked containers.

Life’s Messy Clean it Up - Wrapped Soaps for Lutheran World Relief- Container on Narthex Table.

Microwave Pop Corn for Chaplain Dan’s movie night for the troops in Iraq- Box in Narthex.

New Sweat Pants and Sweat Shirts for Women & Children Victims of crime. The need is great- over 200 cases annually at Stony Brook Hospital. Donations are to be functional and inexpensive.  Collection box in Narthex.

Mite Boxes-Place your loose change in mite boxes to support LWML (Lutheran Women’s Missionary League.) ministries to local churches and chaplaincy programs.

Stamp Collections-cut out and leave ¼ inch space around stamps on your incoming mail to help pay for deaf interpreters for the annual LWML conventions.

Soda Pop Tops Collection-Help pay for children on dialysis to attend summer camps.

-Mowers , trimmers and rakers needed on a weekly basis.

-Care of flower beds and trees and shrubs.

-If you have the tools and skills to make repairs and do all around

handy person type work let us know

 

ARCHITECT/ENGINEER - LICENSED DESIGN PROFESSIONAL

-We need you to prepare and donate a comprehensive evaluation

of church properties, provide budgeting and critical advise regarding the short term and long term needs of the "Care of God's House" at St James Lutheran
