THE SMITHTOWN FOOD PANTRY thanks you for your continued support in donating non perishable food donations which can be left in the Narthex basket.  Currently needed: tuna, canned meats, mac-n-cheese, rice, coffee, tea, paper goods, toiletries, canned goods, cereal, juice, spaghetti sauce. Once again our volunteers did an outstanding job of managing the food pantry and I offer my sincere thanks for all their hard work and a job well done. In September we serviced 81 families which included 150 infants and children totaling 293 people!         –Norma Martin

 

CONNECTIONS: Meeting on Sundays  at 10:00-10:45, a parent’s coffee hour/ discussion group will be meeting in the Youth Room. The leaders will focus on a variety of topics centered around the Christian Family. Come, meet with other parents in our church family

 

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: In the era of shrinking budgets and a church complex that requires lots  of TLC, the following projects need

Volunteers to complete:

    * Paint parish hall  staircase and landing

    * Paint 2nd Ave stairwell and landing

    * Hymnal rack repairs - church

    * Repaint exterior doors of church

    * Build set of gates for playground fence

    * Continued painting of exterior of parsonage

    * Power wash and paint garage

    * Install emergency lights choir room

    * Install emergency lights choir room staircase

    * Install grounding for Cat 5 and COAX –Parsonage

    * Install grounding for Cat 5 and COAX –Church

    * Clean and paint kitchen stove

    * Build storage shelves parsonage basement

Life’s Messy Clean it Up - Wrapped Soaps for LWR third world countries.

Mite Boxes-Put loose change in mite boxes to support LWML ministries to local churches and chaplaincy programs.

Stamp Collections-cut out and leave ¼ inch space around stamps on your incoming mail to help pay for deaf interpreters.

Soda Pop Tops Collection-children on dialysis to attend summer camps.

Smithtown Emergency Food Pantry- to help feed the local hungry.

Care and Share- Grocery Receipt collection from King Kullen Setauket.
